exciting workshops planned!
Tote Bag/Purse Construction Basics
Date: Wednesday, September 30th
Time: 9 am to Noon
Price: No fee
Maximum Participants: 10
Workshop given by: Leslie Sheets
Learn the important basics to sewing a tote bag or purse. Whether you take a tote bag or purse workshop, or try to learn how by looking at You Tube videos, this workshop will help you understand the components needed to successfully finish your project.
Areas that will be covered:
- Closures (snaps, magnetic, twist, etc.)
- Zipper placement (exterior, flat zipper pockets, and tabs)
- Pockets (exterior, interior, customized)
- Straps (methods and embellishments)
- Various interfacings (for structure of your project)
There will be supplies for you to practice with,(which I encourage) but if you just want to observe, I will be showing the steps needed to complete your future projects. Let me answer the “hows and whys” of making a tote or purse!
It’s not hard once you know how!
***Please note: We will not be making a project at this workshop. There will be samples for you to take home. I will be teaching an all-day workshop on making a tote bag on October 10th.

Tote Bag Workshop
Date: Saturday October 17th
Time: 9 am to 4 pm

In this workshop you will sew a Mega Dream Bag by Bodobo Bags. I will be teaching you the step-by-step method to complete the bag in one day! It is a multi-pocketed interior to design as many pockets as you wish. It has a zipper closure at top, boxed corners, and handles. The sides fold down for easy access to the interior! This is an all-day workshop, as it will be great to leave with a versatile tote. Supply list available when you sign up for the workshop. You will receive a printed copy of the complete directions for this tote bag. Suggested, but not required, is my “Tote Bag/Purse Construction Basics”workshop

Want to make a cute keychain or magnet? Amy is teaching a workshop on how to embroider on plastic canvas. You will decide if you want to make the magnet using one piece of canvas, or the keychain using two pieces of canvas attached together. The size for the finished project is 1"x 1". These would make great gifts! Amy will provide the supplies for you to complete either the magnet or the keychain, whichever you chose.
